Lionel 224 2-6-2 Prairie-Type Steam Locomotive with 2466W Whistle Tender – Early Postwar (1945–1947)
The Lionel 224 was one of the first steam locomotives produced after World War II. Styled after a Pennsylvania Railroad locomotive, it features a 2-6-2 wheel configuration, die-cast body, headlight, and a mechanical 3-position E-unit for directional control.
The paired 2466W tender includes a working whistle and a metal body, with die-cast trucks and metal handrails—a heavy-duty tender not often seen after the late 1940s. with the original 2466W tender box
