Description

Up for sale is a rare and mechanically sound HO Scale Brass Erie Triplex imported by LMB Models. This is the highly desirable 1969 single-motor production run, known for its superior tracking and smoother mechanical performance compared to earlier versions.

Mechanical & Service History:

  • Single-Motor Drive: Features the reliable single-motor setup in the red factory box.

  • Fresh Service: The locomotive has been professionally cleaned and lubricated.

  • Performance: Performance tested on a DC analog loop; runs smoothly in both forward and reverse.

The "Triplex" Wheel Arrangement: The Erie Triplex is a marvel of steam-era engineering. It features a 2-8-8-8-2 configuration, essentially combining three sets of driving wheels under one massive boiler. Because the third set of drivers is located under the tender, this locomotive was designed for massive "pusher" service on the Gulf Summit hill.

Condition & Packaging:

  • Finish: Clean brass with a light, even patina. No major tarnish or "zinc pest" on the wheels.

  • Box: Includes the original 1969 red factory box. The labels are intact and clear. (Note: Original foam has been inspected/replaced to ensure the brass is protected).
