The Lionel 2065 is a mid-1950s 4-6-4 Hudson-type steam locomotive that shares many features with higher-end engines like the 2046. It has a die-cast body, Magnetraction for improved pulling power, smoke unit, and a 3-position E-unit.

The 2046W tender, with a plastic body and metal trucks, includes a built-in whistle and is marked "Lionel Lines." This was the standard tender sold with the 2065 in original Lionel sets.
